The Ranch allows you to explore Kualoa Ranch on horseback. There are two tours offered to guests, a one-hour tour and a two-hour tour, that both go through the heavenly hidden valleys within the 4,000 acres of the ranch. No experience is needed to have fun at Kualoa Ranch!

Established in 1850, the Kualoa Ranch Private Nature Reserve has been owned and managed by the descendants of the Judd family for eight generations. The beautiful 4,000 acres, named Kualoa, Hakipuʻu, and Kaʻaʻawa, are located on the northeast side of the Island of Oahu, which is a 45-minute drive from Honolulu. The Private Nature Reserve and cattle ranch extends from the green mountain cliffs to the sparkling waters of Kaneohe Bay. The terrain of the reserve varies from its lush tropical rainforests to its sprawling open valleys. One of the major sections in the ranch is the north end of Kaʻaʻawa Valley, nicknamed Jurassic Valley, is where many movies and TV shows have been filmed, such as Jurassic Park and Hawaii Five-0. The valley is known in Hollywood for the best background for taking pictures. The most well-known tourist spot on Oahu, most of its 4,000 acres are actually used for herding cattle, and it is considered as one of the most sacred places by Polynesians.

[1-hour Horseback Riding]

Horses take you into the southern valley of Kualoa Ranch on this tour. Along the way, you will see Mokoli’i Island (also known as "Chinaman’s Hat"), and a Hawaiian fishpond over 800 years old. Before departing, you will watch a short film on safety precautions (multilingual versions can be requested). To prevent delays to your itinerary, please arrive 15 minutes before departure.

Remarks: Participants must be 10 years old or above, must be over 140 cm tall and weigh under 230lbs. For your safety, please wear closed toe shoes. Oversized backpacks and cameras are not allowed while on horseback. You can store them in the locker area.

1. [Cinema Scene Tour]

Experience the beauty of Ka’a’awa Valley, where many Hollywood movies were filmed, including Jurassic Park as well as a series of classic Elvis movies filmed in the 1960s.

After a short bus ride and walk through the scenes of Jurassic Park, you’ll look for footprints and bones of dinosaurs. During the itinerary, you will pass a bomb shelter left during World War II. The bomb shelter has precious photos, objects, posters and props from Hollywood movies on display.

Remarks: Children 10 years old or younger must be accompanied by a guardian.

2. [Taste of Tropical Orchard]

The tropical garden tour is an opportunity to learn more about the beautiful culture and history of ancient Hawaii. You will take a boat to visit an authentic, ancient Hawaiian fishpond. This 800-year-old fishpond is also certified as a historical site by the US government. You will learn about the unique aquaculture methods and architectural concepts of ancient Hawaiians.

Before taking a boat tour to the fishpond, you will pass through the tropical garden of Mokoli’i in Kualoa. Tropical gardens include not only native Hawaiian plants, but also plants and flowers from all over the world. You will learn how the first Hawaiians brought various plants to the islands and successfully planted them. After visiting the tropical garden, we will collect crops planted in our farms, such as fresh dried fruits, fish, sweet potatoes, macadamia, etc. (harvest based on the season). You will also have the opportunity to taste fruits in the botanical garden.

Sample itinerary: (the actual time depends on the local weather and seasonal sunshine time)

6:45 am -7:30 am - Assemble: go to each designated place. Look for a car with the word “Kualoa”. The staff will wear a green t-shirt and call your name. The Kualoa emergency contact numbers are (808) 237-7321, (808) 683-8532, and (808) 381-8999.

7:30 am - Transportation: take the bus to Kualoa Ranch in Kualoa, Hawaii. Travel time: about 30 minutes.

8:00 am - Visit Kualoa Ranch: the adventure package includes one 1-hour adventure (horseback riding or ATV four-wheel mountain bike) package including the classic lunch buffet. You will have 30 minutes to look over the itinerary and guides can explain the itinerary to you.

10:30 am - 1:00 pm - Lunch: non-buffet and buffet options available. For salads, Korean kimchi, chicken BBQ, beef BBQ, desserts, rice, drinks, buffet, etc., please refer to the actual arrangement.

1:00pm - After lunch: you will continue your itinerary.

2:30pm - Return: go to the departure point, which is the same as the morning drop off point.Travel time: about 30 minutes.
